A Monster Mission

Sail through the WA Museum - Shipwreck Galleries in search of strange and mysterious beasts of the deep. Ahoy! Welcome aboard young pirates

All aspiring young pirate recruits are invited to come aboard the Duyfken Replica this Easter weekend (Saturday to Monday) as part of the fun of the Fremantle Street Arts Festival. For just a gold coin donation (normally $10 per adult), you can join the crew and discover what life was like aboard a real Dutch East Indies Company ship that sailed and did battle on the waters of Indonesia 400 years ago.While there were fortunes to be made, life was tough ... to be sure! Make sure you come dressed in your pirate outfit. We're open from Saturday April 4 to Monday April 6 from 10am to 4pm at the Sardine Wharf – near the Endeavour Shed on Mews Road, Fremantle Fishing Harbour. Aaahhhhh ... see you at the ship!

Keep the kids entertained these school holidays with free holiday fun. Come and see the cute animals in the animal display at Woolstores Shopping centre on Tuesday 7 July until Friday 10 July from 10am to 2pm .

Buster the Fun Bus and bouncy castle

Buster the Fun Bus and a bouncy castle will be at the Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre on Wednesday 8 July as part of NAIDOC celebrations. A great way to keep the kids entertained for a few hours over school holidays!

Children's sailing courses

At Fremantle Sailing Club we have a beautiful protected pond away from the beach providing a super safe, controlled environment to conduct our classes in. Our classes are Yachting Australia accredited. Our courses cover basic skills. Children must be water confident and able to swim. Sailing a dinghy can be fun and exhilarating and this program has been developed to provide a safe introduction to dinghy sailing. It is designed to teach participants how to sail, starting with the essential skills in the first course "Start Sailing 1". More advanced skills and techniques are gradually introduced as students progress through the syllabus, so that by the end they will be ready to start racing at their local sailing club or just enjoy being out on the water .While it is not essential to start at the beginning, it will be harder to master the more advanced skills if students are not familiar with the basics.  •The courses are 5 day courses and run from Mondays through to Fridays - 8:30 am to 12noon each day•These classes are open to the public and suitable for children between 8 and 11 years of age.•Children must be water confident and able to swim (buoyancy jackets supplied) Open to the publicLevel of attainment Basic Skills1
