Overview

Macramé or macrame is a form of textile-making using knotting rather than weaving or knitting. Its primary knots are the square knot (a variant of the reef knot) and forms of "hitching". Macrame is believed to date back to the 13th century, mastered by Arab weavers creating decorative fringes on camels and horses in the regions of northern Africa.

Using coloured thread and a variety of knotting techniques master the basics and use your skills to make a plant hanger or decorative item for your home.

Suitable For: Beginners/Intermediate
