Two rhythm magicians come together for one night only in a special showcase of body percussion, music made entirely from the bodies of the performers. Featuring a high-energy mix of vocal elements, rapping and tapping, you will be blown away by the intense musicality of this fully textured, relentless rhythmic soundscape.
Felix Zenger (Finland) is one of the world’s best beatboxers. Praised by the likes of Pharrell Williams, Zenger pushes the boundaries of the genre and has wowed audiences around the world. He returns to FAC after an acclaimed appearance at Soft Soft Loud 2015.
Greg Sheehan (NSW) has long been considered one of the most accomplished percussionists in Australia. A musical innovator and pioneer of contemporary rhythm, he’s known for experimenting and making beats with a vast assortment of unusual and unexpected instruments.
Taking the stage together, Zenger and Sheehan will use only their voices, arms, legs and other body parts in the first half of the show to create complex, captivating beats. They will be joined by guest vocalist Joni Hogan (WA) from Joni in the Moon.
The second half of the show will see the introduction of WA percussionists Josh Hogan and Steve Richter on drums and other backing instruments, taking Zenger and Sheehan’s body percussion to the next level, creating intense, layered beats.
