To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the annual FAC Print Award supported by Little Creatures Brewing, Tracing Print looks back over the evolution of the Award, unpicking significant trends and developments surrounding the diverse medium of printmaking. The speakers will showcase the enduring relevance this medium holds within the contemporary art world.
AC Curator Ric Spencer will introduce you to artists, curators and industry professionals who have had significant involvement with the Award over its long history.
André Lipscombe, Curator, City of Fremantle Art Collection, will lead a tour of the exhibition Multiple Choices, which features a selection of past winners’ works.
The Winner of the 2015 Print Award will discuss their winning work in the context of their broader practice and share their thoughts about the Award’s place and importance on a national scale.
Peter Burgess (NSW) Artist; Co-Head Printmaking Department, National Art School, Sydney; Former FAC Print Award Winner (2004 and 2011) and Judge (2014), will discuss his printmaking practice and his personal involvement with the Award over the years as an exhibiting artist, winner and judge.
