Autism West Youth Advisory Council

Are you a changemaker? Do you want to have a say in issues impacting young people with autism? Would you love a chance to create social change AND help Autism West design its services and programs? If the answer is YES then this is the opportunity for you! Autism West is kick-starting a Youth Advisory Council and are seeking young people, aged 15-25, to join and provide their perspectives on living with ASD and to use their voice to create positive social change! This program is kindly supported by the Department of Communities and the City of Fremantle Fremantle Youth Advisory Council.

Feel Your Best Fitness Bootcamps

A small group fitness class, focusing on high intensity training to gain strength, endurance and cardio fitness. Classes include fit-boxing, strength and cardio circuits and drills. NightFields

NightFields is coming to South Fremantle Senior High School for term 3. If you are in year 6 to year 12 come down to the South Fremantle High School oval on Thursdays from 3.30pm-5pm, to learn some new skills, play footy games and meet new friends. Free after school snacks and prizes each week.

5 Week STEM | Learn Electronics and Computing

This course designed for ages 10 + will cover the basic knowledge of simple electronics and computing by setting up a Raspberry Pi single-board computer; wiring some input/output lights and buttons then writing an interface program using the Python programming language. This is a hands-on workshop where we go from a power-up a Raspberry Pi, using applications, programming, wiring simple LED circuits, communicating to those external circuits, and interfacing programming to Minecraft™. Learn the basic concepts behind our electronic devices we use every day. STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics—STEM, and therefore, STEM education—are vital to your future and the future of our children. The areas of learning you and your kids need to be comfortable with to excel in the future are STEM. STEM makes creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators, and inventors. Besides, STEM is everywhere from our homes, cars, payment and ticketing systems, to your workplace and your mobile phones; it shapes our everyday experiences. It is not enough to be able to turn on a computer and use a mobile phone. If you wish to get ahead you need to understand more about the science and technology behind our modern day devices. Objective:To Have Fun! Play with the basic concepts behind our devices we use every day. Learn by doing fun hands-on physical computing activities to understand our human relationship to the digital world.
