Field of the Unwanted Roving Eve

Field of the Unwanted is an emerging installation and unconventional garden calling attention to the undesirable and unwelcome.  Over the past five months artists Chris Williams and the Green Brigade have transformed a razed demolition site in central Fremantle, cultivating an ordered garden of weeds. Field of the Unwanted uses weeds, "plants that grow where they are not wanted" to question the hierarchies of value and displacement experienced by members of our own communities. Join the artists on a second and final evening survey of Field of the Unwanted. Rove through the garden plots with our custodians as they harvest and unpack the uses (and non-uses) of the Field's over 30 cultivated weed varieties. Thursday 22 March, 5pm - 7.30pm8 QUEEN VICTORIA STREET, FREMANTLE Arrive anytime during opening hours. Roving begins every 2 minutes.  Field of the Unwanted is commissioned as part of International Art Space's Know Thy Neighbour #2 program and presented in partnership with DADAA.
