Come and enjoy the vibrant Fremantle atmosphere for Australia Day 2016 at our family-friendly events.
This year the City will once again be awash with colour and music from 3pm until late with activities spread throughout Bathers Beach, Esplanade Reserve, Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre and beyond.
The Esplanade from 3pm
During the day lie back on the Esplanade Reserve and join us in the sunshine with fun for the kids, food stalls and live music. Entertainment includes:

The Indian Ocean Fireworks will light up the skies above Bathers Bay. The Cities of Fremantle and Cockburn invite you to sit back with family and friends to enjoy this 20 minute display of light and colour, simulcast live on 96fm.

We encourage people to take advantage of train and bus services along with the healthy options of walking and cycling where possible as there is limited parking in the Fremantle CBD and it will get very busy. For information on public transport options visit the Transperth website.
There are various car parks around Fremantle for motorists coming in by vehicle. iPhone users can also download the Fremantle parking app from the App Store which lists all the parking locations in the Fremantle CBD. Simply search 'Fremantle parking' in the App Store.
- Corner of Mews Road and Mews Road Crossing into Fishing Boat Harbour from 6.00 to 9.30 pm.
- Wardan Lane from 6.00 to 9.30 pm.
- Fleet Street from 6.00 to 9.30 pm.
- No entry or exit from Mews Road between 6.00 and 9.30 pm.
- Monument Hill Reserve closed to vehicle traffic from 6.00 pm Monday 25 January until 7.00 am Wednesday 27 January.
