You are invited to attend the premiere of SPACEFOLDING at PS Art Space a new site specific large scale installation by German sound artist Johannes S. Sistermanns.

Working with cling film and sound, Sistermanns creates immersive environments of the highest order by testing the limits of space, sound and silence, and Glad Wrap.

'My approach to space is intuitive, and visitors shouldn't be trying to [interpret] my message - it's not important what I am thinking or imagining,' Sistermanns states.

The artist is staging a series of three performances as part of this exhibition:

Friday 1 May, 7pm - opening event/performance

OPEN THE GATES-second performance
Friday 8 May, 7.30 pm

SPACE/PLI-final performance in collaboration with Decibel and presented as part of The Totally Huge New Music Festival 2015
Friday 15 May, doors open 7.30 pm-show begins at 8 pm

About: Sistermanns is an internationally acclaimed multi-disciplinary artist and has held exhibitions and residencies all over the world. He holds a doctorate in Musicology from the Musikhoschschule in Koeln and is a session tutor in new music at the ETH. Since 1983 he has been touring, living, teaching, performing and exhibiting and has been the recipient of numerous residencies including Paris, New York, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Europe and Australia.

In 2008 he was awarded the Karl-Sczuka-Prize (support grant winner) German SWR Radio and the German Soundart Award 2008. In 2015 he was the selected artist for the GOLDEN RECORD which was sent into the orbit 2015 with the elctroacoustic composition, 'Abund_dance'.

He has just recently returned from MONA FOMA where he staged a large scale sound installation inside the Salamanca Art Centre in Hobart.
