Sharks and Shamans launches a new artistic venture between Fitzroy Crossing Artists John Prince Siddon and Wes Maselli. The exhibition will explore multi cultural Australian narratives whilst celebrating some of the best contemporary art practice in W.A. right now. The Sharks and Shamans Yarn Party at PS Art Space FRIDAY 27th OF JAN @6.30PM invites people to celebrate alongside the artists and curator Emilia Galatis, starting timely conversations around who we are as ‘Australians'. The event will include an opening address by Glenn Iseger- Pilkington, Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art and Culture at the South Australian Museum as well as impromptu artist and curator talks.
Exclusive to the Sharks and Shamans Yarn Party is a collaborative live art work, interactive cat installations, a range of etched works on tin that mirror Kimberley boab nut carving, painted coolamons, the premier of a new video work by Wes Maselli, wheelie bins and maybe even Neil Finn!.
Presented in collaboration with the artists John Prince Siddon, Wes Maselli, Mangkaja Artists Resource Centre, the City of Fremantle and PS Art Space.
