Discover WA’s oldest public building this school holidays. Find out what the ‘curfew bell’ was used for, how many cells the Round House had in the 1800s, and maybe even get locked up in our stock and pillory! At 1pm (sharp) each day, join us as we fire the cannon and lower the time ball on the Gun Deck next to the Round House. Visitors are welcome to be our ‘Honorary Gunner’ of the day and we accept advance bookings via the Round House website to avoid disappointment - so come and celebrate an anniversary, a birthday, or 'just because'! Round House

The Round House is the oldest public building in the State of Western Australia. Opened in January 1831, just 18 months after settlement, it was built to hold any person convicted of a crime in the settlement and was used until 1886. Round House is open between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm every day except Christmas Day and Good Friday.The cannon is fired daily at 1 pm, preceded by a talk by one of our volunteer guides commencing around 12.50 pm (weather permitting).  Visitors are welcome to apply to act as our Honorary Gunner.  We recommend advance bookings to avoid…
